IV Therapy in Maryville, TN: What to Expect at Your First Appointment

If you've been curious about IV therapy but weren't quite sure what actually happens during an appointment, you're not alone. Most of my clients tell me the same thing before their first visit: they had questions, but weren't sure who to ask. That's exactly why I'm writing this.

I'm Bonnie, a Registered Nurse and the owner of Smoky Mountain Hydration. We're located at 1628 W Broadway Ave in Maryville — right in Cornerstone Shopping Center, next to Blossom Bowls. Here's an honest, step-by-step look at what your first appointment with us looks like.

When You Arrive

We're an appointment-based practice, so when you walk in, we're expecting you. There's no waiting room chaos, no crowded lobby. The space is calm and quiet — gray walls, dark floors, and black recliners that are genuinely comfortable. Most clients tell me it feels more like a spa than a clinic, which is intentional.

You'll fill out a brief intake form if you haven't already, and we'll go over your health history, any medications, and what you're hoping to get out of your visit. I take this part seriously. IV therapy isn't one-size-fits-all, and the few minutes we spend talking upfront make a real difference in what I put together for you.

Choosing Your IV Blend

This is where things get personalized. We offer a range of IV formulations designed for different goals:

  • Simple Hydration — A clean, straightforward saline infusion. Great for general wellness, travel recovery, or if you just want to see how your body responds to IV therapy.

  • Prenatal — Formulated with expecting mothers in mind, supporting hydration and key nutrients during pregnancy.

  • Migraine — A blend designed to address some of the common triggers behind migraine symptoms: dehydration, magnesium deficiency, and inflammation.

  • Hangover — Rehydration, vitamins, and anti-nausea support. One of our most requested blends on weekend mornings.

  • Myers Cocktail — A classic combination of magnesium, B vitamins, and vitamin C. Popular with clients who use IV therapy regularly for overall wellness support. Optional upgrade to Myers PLUS (with antioxidant Glutathione included).

  • Athletic Performance — Designed for recovery after hard training or competition. Helps replenish what your body loses through sweat and exertion.

  • NAD+ IV Therapy — Our most advanced option. NAD+ is a coenzyme involved in cellular energy production. We offer it in 100–500mg doses for clients interested in deeper support for energy, cognitive clarity, and cellular health. We start at low doses and can increase at next visit if you tolerate lower doses.

Not sure which one is right for you? That's fine. We'll talk through your symptoms, goals, and health history together, and I'll give you my honest recommendation.

The Infusion Itself

Once your IV is placed and your drip is running, you're free to relax. Most IV sessions take between 45 minutes and an hour, depending on the blend and infusion rate. NAD+ sessions run longer up to 4 hours.

You'll be settled into one of our recliners. Clients typically read, scroll their phone, or just rest. The space is quiet on purpose. Some people use the time to decompress in a way they don't normally get to during the day.

I'll check in with you throughout your session. If you feel anything unusual — warmth, pressure at the IV site, lightheadedness — let me know immediately. I'm an RN, and your safety is the whole point of having a licensed nurse oversee every infusion. This isn't something we outsource or hand off to an unlicensed staff member. You're with a clinician from start to finish.

How You Might Feel After

Everyone responds a little differently. Some clients feel the difference within an hour — clearer, more energized, less foggy. Others notice it gradually over the following day or two. A lot of it depends on where you were starting from: how hydrated you were, how depleted your nutrient levels were, and which blend you received.

What I tell first-time clients: don't expect a dramatic, immediate transformation. What most people notice is that they feel more like themselves — more even, more functional. Hydration and nutrient support aren't performance-enhancing drugs. They're giving your body what it already needs to work well.

Pricing and Membership

Typical IV therapy at Smoky Mountain Hydration ranges from $100 to $210, depending on the blend, and up to $500 for NAD infusions. Our VIP members receive the same services at a reduced rate of $85 to $179 per treatment. Sorry no discounts on the NAD.

If you find yourself coming in regularly — once a month or more — our membership is the most cost-effective way to do it. Members save on every visit, and it's the option I recommend most for clients who use IV therapy as part of an ongoing wellness routine rather than a one-time fix.
